The Urban Developer: Joe Adsett Wins Approval for Luxury Toowong Tower

South-East Queensland architect-developer Joe Adsett has won approval for his latest Brisbane luxury apartment tower at Toowong.

The 15- storey development was given the go-ahead by the Brisbane City Council for the 1077sq m site at 25 Glen Road, Toowong, nine months after plans for the project were filed.

The tower, to be called Amari, will comprise 28 three-bedroom apartments with views of the Brisbane River, Mt Coot-tha and the city’s skyline.

Adsett’s latest project, he said, would exemplify the design aesthetic he had become synonymous with—pared-back minimalism and functional luxury.

The apartments feature floorplates of about 240sq m, floor-to-ceiling glazing, two living spaces and two-and-a-half bathrooms.

The tower will be capped by a rooftop terrace with a lap pool.
Other amenities include a wellness area, sauna, cinema, gymnasium and outdoor dining spaces.

“We are already seeing strong interest from purchasers ... driven by a growing demand for premium housing options in lifestyle corridors like Brisbane’s western suburbs, where accessibility, amenities, and investment potential align with buyer preferences,” Adsett said.

He said connection with landscaping and nature had been a key design element of Amari,.

landscaping by RPS Landscape Architects, which helped the building to connect with its natural surroundings.

The developer’s Rainbow Bay project Rockpool has completed and is commencing settlements this week, while several other south-east Queensland projects in progress.
