The Urban Developer: Joe Adsett Pitches Tower for Brisbane’s Toowong
Architect-developer Joe Adsett has unveiled plans for a 15-storey apartment tower overlooking the Brisbane River at Toowong.
The south-east Queensland architect has designed a 28-apartment tower for a 1077sq m site at 25 Glen Road, which would offer 240sq m, three-bedroom configurations for the inner-west site.
The boutique development would offer views to the river, CBD and nearby Mt Coot-tha, and amenities would include a rooftop terrace with lap pool, wellness area, sauna, cinema, gym and outdoor dining spaces.
Adsett said the project was designed to prioritise space, privacy and connection to nature, which would appeal to the downsizer market.
“We are seeing strong interest from purchasers looking for high-quality inner-city residences,” Adsett said.
“This is being driven by a growing demand for premium housing options in key lifestyle corridors like the Western Suburbs corridor, where accessibility, amenities and investment potential align with buyer preferences.”
Adsett said the building’s organic form referenced the curves of the Brisbane River with earthy tones and natural materials reflecting Toowong’s streetscape and subtropical environment.
RPS Landscape Architects’ design established a connection between the built form and its natural surroundings, as well as a communal rooftop garden, he said.
